The Groningen City Panel on LGBT
Description
In general, the members of the City Panel accept homosexuals, bisexuals and transgenders. This is also evident from the additional comments that people have posted.
Not everyone agrees with the statement that it is safe for homosexuals in the city. It is also striking that non-heterosexuals are generally less positive about safety than heterosexuals.
Opinions on acceptance are divided. As with safety, the Stadspanel's opinion on its own city is more positive than on acceptance in the province, the Randstad and the whole of the Netherlands.
A small group disagrees with the statement that homosexuality is accepted in the city of Groningen. Possibly this is related to the fact that 12% in the past year have experienced people being called names because of their orientation. Homosexuals are less positive about acceptance than heterosexuals.
