Description
The city of Groningen has a broad care function for a large region. The hospitality industry is a defining image and essential for meeting and connecting. This is particularly visible in the inner city. The municipality wants to recalibrate the hospitality policy from 2011. This policy is mainly preservative in character and focuses primarily on the inner city. Many initiatives are now assessed and weighed on a case-by-case basis, without a clear spatial-functional framework.
The municipality wants insight into the possibilities and conditions for a more development-oriented approach to the hospitality industry and an up-to-date framework that answers the question ‘which hospitality industry do we want where’.
