Description
The awareness of the weekend in which free travel by bus was possible was significantly higher in 2010 with 57 percent than in 2009. At that time, 37 percent of the townspeople knew about it. However, the number of people who travelled by bus during the weekend (12%) is not significantly different from 2009. This is evident from a survey among the members of the City Panel.
In 2010, the municipality of Groningen organized a weekend in which people could travel by bus for free within the city (18 and 19 September). The municipality wanted to draw attention to this possibility of sustainable transport. As in previous years, this was done in the context of the national Week of Progress.
