Description
Environmental noise affects the quality of the environment and sometimes also public health. The EU Environmental Noise Directive therefore requires municipalities with 100,000 inhabitants or more to adopt noise maps and an Action Plan every five years.
On the sound cards you can see on the basis of colors how high the noise load is. The Action Plan sets out what the municipality can and will do in the coming years.
Environmental noise is defined as: road traffic noise, railway noise and industrial noise.
On the ‘recipient side’, these are housing, educational buildings and medical institutions.
