Evaluation of population projections for the Groningen-Assen region
Description
This report from 2010 evaluated the various forecasts for the Groningen-Assen region. A total of five forecasts were included in the evaluation:
- PEARL
- PRIMOS Local
- PRIMOS Online
- ABF
- IPB Drenthe.
The data of IPB Drenthe only covered the municipalities of Drenthe in the region. The analysis on the demographic data was carried out by distinguishing population, households, and increase in the housing stock.
The population is further broken down into the three demographic components that explain a change in population size: natural growth, internal migration and external migration. In the case of households, the focus was mainly on the different types of households. In addition, the household profiles were looked at on a limited scale.
The evaluation draws a number of conclusions.
