Economy and business parks Groningen-Assen region to 2030
Description
The issuance of business parks has decreased sharply in the Groningen-Assen region in recent years. This applies to the region in general and the city of Groningen in particular. The Region of Groningen-Assen and the municipality of Groningen have therefore asked Bureau Louter to carry out research into the reasons why the demand for industrial estates has decreased so clearly, what the expectations are for the future and how the development of the demand for industrial estates relates to the supply.
The latter question is also addressed in more detail in a study by STEC Groep and Zandbelt & Van den Berg, which was carried out simultaneously and in collaboration with Bureau Louter.
For the purpose of the study, detailed analyses were carried out of the branch registers of the two provinces and the municipality of Groningen, a database was set up with all kinds of information about business parks in the region and a methodology was developed to determine the demand for business parks at a granular spatial and sectoral level.
The most important conclusions are formulated here for each chapter. It should be emphasized that the research had an analysis as an angle. The formulation of conclusions on policy and strategy to be implemented in the field of business parks is not part of the research.
