Cycling in the Groningen-Assen region
Description
This report is the result of a study on bicycle measures in the Region, both for utilitarian and recreational bicycle traffic. The reason for this study was the absence of the bicycle in the current multi-year investment programme for the Groningen-Assen Region, where the modalities car, bus and train were included. The bicycle measures should contribute to stimulating the use of bicycles, both utilitarian and recreational in the Regiovisie area. This then contributes to ensuring the accessibility of this area.
This report contains a list of projects containing all above-local cycling projects in the region vision area, which contribute to the objectives of the Groningen-Assen Region. This report is an important basis for the follow-up. The results of this study will be taken into account, among other things, in the network analysis of the Groningen-Assen Region. The network analysis eventually leads to the new multi-annual investment programme.
A final consideration to determine which cycling projects will actually be included in the multi-year investment programme has therefore yet to be made. An integral consideration is made. The relationship with the Regiopark project also plays an important role in this assessment.
