Description
The Buurtzorgen report discusses the findings of a study among residents of a small part of the Corpus den Hoorn Noord district in Groningen. The investigated part of Corpus den Hoorn Noord is a post-war neighborhood with relatively high unemployment, residents with lower incomes and immigrants. In this neighborhood there is an increasing amount of nuisance by young people. Primary school has been dealing with many multi-problem families for a number of years. At the same time, the involvement of parents in the school decreases. In addition, few young children use pre-school facilities. Also, the playground building is not used optimally and only a part of the children come to facilities such as Het Kinderwerk. As a result, care children are not in sight. The participants of the Vensterschool Hoornse Wijken find the above developments worrying.
To gain insight into the problems that play in the neighborhood, the offer for parents and children, the use of this offer, successful activities and reasons for non-use, a study was conducted. The research is made up of a number of components, namely: an analysis to identify background characteristics of residents, an expert meeting with employees of institutions working in the district, and interviews by parents among parents from the district.
