Benchmark size of civil service municipalities
Description
How does the size of your municipality's civil service compare to that of other municipalities? That is the central question of this study. It should lead to an understanding of the size of the civil service of your municipality compared to that of other municipalities. We divide the total size into municipal tasks.
The aim of the study is to make it possible to have an objective discussion within your municipality about the size of your civil service. We do this on the basis of a benchmark study of the size of the entire civil service. Since the launch of the benchmark in 2002, more than 300 municipalities have participated. An inventory of the Benchmarking project team of the Ministry of the Interior shows that this is the most extensive database in the field of formation within the public sector.
The benchmark was re-certified with the VNG Quality Mark Benchmarking at the beginning of 2009. Your municipality is one of the 96 municipalities that participated in the benchmark during the 2007-2009 research period.
The indicators presented do not give the ‘final opinion’ on your municipality. However, they do provide objective comparison information. Benchmark research can confirm your assumptions or, on the contrary, can yield ‘surprise points’. If the latter is the case, we recommend that you carry out a further analysis of the specific situation in your municipality.
