Analysis of the economy of Groningen
Description
As detailed in the presentation and especially in the Rabobank report, we were able to characterise Groningen as follows:
There is good economic growth, there is a surplus of talent in the city, the business sector is performing well and the peaks (energy and care) are based on real economic carriers. The picture of growth first stabilised from 2009 and then reversed into a slight decline in employment. The talent finds insufficient work in the region, the economy is not yet sufficiently propulsive (budget economy), the city concerns about 1% of the national economy on an island and the economy is regionally oriented. The North Wing of the Randstad is the magnet in the Netherlands. An economic strategy for the region will have to respond to this.
