1 km² cell grid

Description

The European Commission has set up a flat geometric grid that divides the space of the European Union (EU-28 and EFTA countries) into 1 km² cells (INSPIRE, 2014). This geospatial reference grid is named ‘Grid_ETRS89-LAEA’ since it was established on the basis of the European Terrestrial Reference System 1989 – Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area (ETRS89-LAEA). This dataset contains the layer of 2795 cells of 1 km² that are encompassed in whole or in part in the territory of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
