GL_St_Lawrence_River_2021 ESI BENTHIC Polygons

Description

This feature class resides within the BIOLOGY Feature Data Set of the St Lawrence River - 2021 ESI Geodatabase. It contains vector polygons representing BENTHIC data for the Great Lakes St Lawrence River. The study area includes the St. Lawrence River from the headwaters of Lake Ontario, northeast to the western portion of L'Ile-Saint-Regis Island (CA). This data set contains sensitive biological resource data for submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV). Vector polygons in this dataset represent SAV. Species-specific abundance, seasonality, status, life history, and source information are stored in associated data tables (described in Entity Attribute Overview below) designed to be used in conjunction with this spatial data layer. This data set is a portion of the ESI data for the Great Lakes St. Lawrence River. As a whole, the ESI data characterize the marine and coastal environments and wildlife by their sensitivity to spilled oil, and include information for three main components: shoreline habitats, sensitive biological resources, and human-use resources.
