Map of benthic stands on the Landes coast off Arcachon (Source Monbet Y. 1972) - Scale: 1 / 300 000

Description

This map of benthic stands in the Arcachon sector was based on Yves Monbet’s thesis, entitled ‘Bionomic study of the continental shelf off Arcachon (application of factorial analysis)’, published in 1972. This study on the trawlable bottoms of the Landes and Gironde coast off Arcachon identified 5 sedimentary areas arranged parallel to the coast. The benthic stands are divided into 2 large groups, the coastal group composed of 3 stands and the sub-coastal group of 4 stands. The map was digitised in 2005 and harmonisation with the EUNIS typology was carried out in 2007 (REBENT project).
