Description
The analysis focuses on the monitoring of dissolved oxygen concentrations in the coastal and transitional water bodies of the Western Channel and the Bay of Biscay.
The oxygen balance is one of the elements selected for the ecological status classification. Quality shall be assessed from the 10 percentile of the oxygen balance compared to a reference value.
Water samples for the measurement of dissolved oxygen are taken monthly in the summer period (June to September), at the bottom and in the sub-surface of the water column.
The most recent assessment of the state of this element is presented in the DCE Loire-Bretagne Atlas. Previous reports are available in annual archives.
