CURRENT: Direction and average annual speed of the barotropic and surface current around Réunion (simulation year: 2006 – 450m mesh)

Description

Current modeling involves recalculating, for each time step, the velocity and direction components of the current in each mesh of the model, for each depth level (30) over the entire right-of-way (~7 million cells recalculated at each time step). As part of the Hydrorun project, a full year of realistic simulation (>50,000 time steps) was generated. Among the summary parameters produced, the following are presented: - The annual average speed and direction of the barotropic current (calculated over the year 2006) in meters per second - Average annual surface speed and direction (calculated over the year 2006) in metres per second Dissemination format: Shape and Lyr
