Summary map of coastal benthic habitats of Natura 2000 site n° FR5300010 Côte de Trestel in Paimpol, Estuaires du Trieux et du Jaudy and Bréhat Archipelago
Description
The synthesis map of the benthic habitat inventories of the Trégor-Goëlo site was developed using mainly data from the Rebent, Natura 2000 and CARTHAM projects. The source data come from the interpretation of acoustic images (multibeam sounder, side-scan sonar, RoxAnn) and aerial images (ortholitorals 2000, blom imaging of 2008), underwater videos, biosedimentary samples and field validations on foot and by boat (observations, GPS surveys, photographs, etc.) carried out between 2008 and 2013. The gaps were filled by interpretation when bathymetric data and optical images were available, or by extrapolation. The classification of habitats has been developed according to the main benchmarks, namely:
- The typology of generic habitats in the Habitats Directive,
- The basic habitats of the habitat registers,
- The Rebent typology
- The European ENIS standard at level 4 as far as possible
