Data — Land cover database CIGAL 2008 v2 (BdOCS2008-CIGAL v2) — Alsace
Description
The geographical land cover database 2008 v2 CIGAL is extracted from the database produced by photointerpretation in 2011 on the whole territory of the Cooperation for Geographic Information in Alsace (Alsace Region, Parc des Vosges du Nord and Parc des Ballons des Vosges) at level 3 and 4 of nomenclature. The thematic reference images are SPOT5 images (two complete covers, one dating from 7/Oct 2007 and the other from March 2008). The geometric reference is the ORTHO IGN BD (covering 2007 on the Alsace region at 50 cm resolution). This data set has been produced to allow optimum exploitation on a scale of 1/10 000. The study area represents an area of 8 330 km² and covers the whole of Alsace.
The database was improved thematically and geometrically as a result of the provision of additional information from the CIGAL orthophotographs of 2011 and 2012 (resolution 20 cm allowing a refinement of contours). In addition, a new thematic passage made it possible to correct polygons locally.
The information layers have also been generalised and are available for exploitation at 1/50 000th (level 2 of the nomenclature) and 1/250 000 (level 1 of the nomenclature).
