Shared Innovation Spaces (EIP) in Hauts-de-France since 2020
Description
Since 2016, the Region has been deploying Shared Innovation Spaces (SIAs). They are located in public secondary schools in the region. They are technically equipped places and can be considered as the Fablabs of the educational environment (reserved for pupils and external partners). For their operation, the Region equips the premises, equips them with equipment (manual, digital and technical equipment) and trains future users in digital manufacturing tools. This network of more than 80 spaces is fully mobilized in REV3 through both technological and societal projects.
PIEs are generally structured around two spaces:
- a prototyping area made up of innovative technological equipment and traditional tools.
- a friendly creative space for exchanges and collaborative creation between users and the school’s teaching team or external speakers.
