Limits of the metropolitan poles of the Hauts-de-France region (as of 01/01/2021)
Description
Breakdown of regional metropolitan poles.
Created in 2010 by the law reforming local authorities, metropolitan poles are mixed unions carrying projects between public institutions of inter-municipal cooperation (EPCI) with own taxation. (The MAPTAM law of 2014 relaxed the rules for the creation of these metropolitan poles).
Metropolitan clusters have recognised competences in economic development, innovation, research, higher education, culture, spatial planning, infrastructure development and transport services.
It should be noted that the metropolitan area of the Côte d’Opale and that of the Audomarois have their perimeters superimposed on the CA of the Pays de St-Omer and the CC of the Pays de Lumbres:
