Description
Installation including the mechanical energy supplying device (spring wheels, turbine) and equipment using this energy (manufacture of flour, generators of electricity, etc.).
Old installations (such as old mills) — more or less preserved — can benefit from a special scheme (water rights) and must therefore also be known to the services, and consequently listed in this data.
Dams, thresholds, or other holding structures, but not providing energy, are identified in specific layers.
Installations of more than 4500 Kilowatts are covered by the Law of 16 October 1919 on the use of hydropower.
Cascade retains only those with a power of less than 4,500 kw under the water policy (the others are concessions under DRIRE).
