Map visualisation service (WMS) of the dataset: Water - Zone Vulnerable to Pollution by Nitrates of Agricultural Origin in the Central Region
Description
The demarcation of zones vulnerable to pollution by nitrates of agricultural origin was carried out under Decree No 93-1038 of 27 August 1993, which transposes Directive 91/676/EEC into French law.
This delimitation, prepared in each department and region by working groups, involving various departments and organizations concerned as well as representatives of the agricultural profession, is based on the knowledge acquired of nitrate levels in groundwater and rivers and on the levels observed during various monitoring campaigns (1992-1993, 1997-1998, 2000-2001) on a monitoring network set up for this purpose.
