Description
Areas where noise limit values are exceeded:
-- for roads with an annual traffic of more than 3 million vehicles
-- for agglomerations with more than 100000 inhabitants
Noise levels above the limit value of 68 dB(A) for roads and 73 dB(A) for railways. Concerns residential, educational and health buildings where noise limit values are exceeded over 24 hours.
Scope: licensed off-road national road network
Directive 2002/49/EC requires noise maps and environmental noise prevention plans (EPCPs) to be reviewed every 5 years and revised where necessary. The data in this layer correspond to the 4th deadline of these assessments.
They are mainly used for drawing up strategic noise maps, in accordance with Article R.572-5 of the Environmental Code.
