EDL 2019: The update of the state of play was based on the work carried out, over the period 2017-2019, at the national, basin and local levels. The state of play analyses the obstacles to regaining good water status. It is a prerequisite for the drafting of the Sdage and the 2022-2027 programme of measures. On 12 December 2019, the Loire-Bretagne Basin Committee adopted the state of play. The basin co-ordinating prefect approved it on December 20, 2019. Every six years, the basin committee carries out a diagnosis of its territory. This diagnosis is based on several elements: • water quality, defined through the use of aquatic monitoring data (biological inventories and physico-chemical analyses): what is technically called water status with its various components: ecological status, chemical status and quantitative status. • identification of the activities causing the degradation of these environments: significant pressures on water. This analysis of the initial situation of the Loire-Bretagne basin, coupled with an estimate of the evolution of pressures on water in the coming years, makes it possible to identify the waters that are likely not to achieve the environmental objectives (good status, etc.) by 2027. For these, additional actions will have to be put in place to regain the quality of water and aquatic environments.
