Description

Polygons of the 24-hour weighted average noise exposure areas of Charente land transport infrastructure greater than 55 dB(A) expressed in Lden. Weighting of the Lden indicator of the average sound level: 12 hours of the day (6:00-17:00); 4 hours evening (17:00-22h) with an increase of 5 dB; 8 hours at night (22h-6h) with an increase of 10 dB. These increases are representative of the discomfort experienced during these periods. This zoning (CEREMA data aggregated by DDT Charente) is derived from a calculation method which gives approximate values and often higher than reality. In situ noise control can accurately determine the sound level to which a construction and its occupants can be exposed.
