Description

The Law on the Modernisation of Agriculture and Fisheries of 27 July 2012 contains several provisions applicable to the forestry sector with the general objective of improving the production and economic valorisation of wood, while respecting the conditions of sustainable forest management. Article 64 of the Forest Code (Article L4-1 of the Forest Code) provides for the establishment in each region of a Multiannual Regional Forest Development Plan (PPRDF), which, consistent with the framework documents in force, analyses the reasons for insufficient exploitation of certain massive areas and defines the measures to remedy them, namely: animation and investments needed for further mobilisation over the period 2012-2016. The PPRDF of Haute-Normandie was approved by order signed by the Prefect of the Region on 27 March 2012. The cartographic file, resulting from the work of the technical and plenary committees, represents the division of the Upper Normandy region into three major forest entities comprising the forest area and the surrounding territory respectively.
