Act No. 95-101 of 2 February 1995, known as the Barnier Law, introduced into the Urbanism Code the prohibition of building in a 100-metre band on either side of the highways, express roads and diversions within the meaning of the Highway Code and seventy-five metres on either side of the axis of other roads classified as high traffic.
