Description
France was one of the first European countries to conduct inventories of polluted sites in a systematic manner (first inventory in 1978). The main objectives of these inventories are:
to identify, in a broad and systematic manner, all abandoned and non-discontinued industrial sites likely to cause environmental pollution,
keep the memory of these sites,
provide useful information to urban, land and environmental actors.
