Description
Specific catchment area located upstream from a remarkable point.
Feeding surface of a watercourse or body of water. The catchment area is defined as the water collection area, considered from an outlet: it is bounded by the contour within which all water flows on the surface and underground to this outlet. Its boundaries are the dividing lines of the waters.
In addition to the catchment areas defined in the BD Carthage repository on the basis of the reference watersheds, procedures (e.g. control basins defined by drought protocols) or the specific needs of the services (e.g. river basins or watersheds upstream of a water intake) may lead to the creation of specific watersheds.
Division of the department according to 17 watersheds of the main rivers.
