Description
Contours of forest fires (regardless of the size of these fires).
The database “Prometheus” (Building materials: MAP-MISSIL; Master of work: CG 13 in liaison with DFCI partners) contains extensive data on forest fires in the 15 departments of the Mediterranean region. Retrieval of data stored in the Prometheus database is possible subject to certain conditions (see on the site: http://www.promethee.com/).
Each fire of more than 100 hectares is the subject of a contour realised by hand on IGN scan funds from field reconnaissance, for the fires from 1972 to 2002. The contours were carried out by the DDAF Sector Technician, or the NFB Territorial Agent if the fire concerned a forest subject to the forest regime. For fires prior to 1972, the source is unknown and the contours are approximate.
