Map visualisation service (WMS) of the dataset: Air Noise — Vaucluse (84) — Lot Sheet
Description
The data standard covers zoning and geographical perimeters defined as part of a noise exposure plan (PEB), noise disturbance plan (PGS) or strategic noise maps (CSB) of an aerodrome. Based on a calculation method, databases and input data on infrastructure, traffic and trajectories, PEBs, PGS and CSB define several noise exposure areas around an aerodrome but have three different purposes:
• the objective of a PEB is to control urbanisation;
• that of a PGS is to determine areas eligible for soundproofing aid;
• the purpose of the CSB “... is to assess and prevent noise pollution resulting from human activities, in particular noise emitted by means of transport, road, rail or air traffic...”;
This standard distinguishes:
• noise areas defined as part of an EPB (3 or 4):
— Zone A: Loud noise zone where Lden* > 70;
— Zone B: Strong noise zone where the Lden < 70 and whose outer limit is between Lden 68 and 62 (depending on aerodromes);
— Zone C: Moderate noise zone between the outer boundary of zone B and a boundary between Lden 64 and 52 (depending on aerodromes);
— Zone D: Noise zone between the outer limit of zone C and a limit corresponding to Lden 50;
• the areas of discomfort defined in the framework of a PGS:
— a zone I of very strong discomfort (included within the Lden 70 index curve);
— a zone II of strong discomfort (included between the Lden 70 and Lden 65 index curves. However, where the external curve of zone B of the approved EPB of the aerodrome is set at a Lden index value of less than 65, this value shall be used for the noise disturbance plane;
— zone III of moderate discomfort (included between the outer limit of zone II and the Lden 55 index curve);
• the noise areas defined in the CSBs; these are the zones between the isophone curves drawn from 55 dB(A) in Lden and 50 dB(A) in Ln and, for the higher values, set 5 in 5 dB(A);
In each of these areas are estimated the populations impacted and are identified the issues identified for the nuisance “Noise” (educational or health establishment);
• noise curves (or isophone curves) calculated for the determination of zoning;
• the one-off elements (health or educational institutions) identified as issues in strategic noise maps.
* Lden = Noise index (or indicator) representing the total noise exposure level
• L: level (level) • d: day (day) • e: evening (evening) • n: night (night)
