Description
Article L146-6 of the Urban Planning Code states that planning documents preserve the land and sea spaces, sites and landscapes remarkable or characteristic of the natural and cultural heritage of the coast, and the environments necessary to maintain biological balances.
The areas and habitats to be preserved include, depending on their ecological interest, coastal dunes and heaths, beaches and lidos, coastal forests and wooded areas, uninhabited islands, natural parts of estuaries, rias or abers and capes, marshes, muds, wetlands and temporarily immersed areas and rest areas, nesting and gagning of avifauna designated by European Directive No 79-409 of 2 April 1979 on the conservation of wild birds and, in the overseas departments, coral reefs, lagoons and mangroves.
This dataset was established in 2011. It has an indicative value of what these remarkable spaces can be in Calvados.
