Description
Itineraries on which vehicles carrying round logs (all portions of trunks of trees or branches obtained by cutting) are authorised, in derogation from the provisions of the Highway Code, by a prefectural decree.
Decree 2003-416 of 30 April 2003 (pursuant to Article 17 of the Forest Orientation Law of 9 July 2001) allows departmental prefects to fix by order routes on which roundwood is authorised to be transported by vehicles of more than 4 axles and with a total rolling weight exceeding 40 tonnes. These tonnages depend on the number of axles of the vehicle.
