Map visualisation service (WMS) of the dataset: Forest biological reserves in the Haut-Rhin
Description
Spaces, in forests falling under the forest regime, voluntarily classified by the National Forestry Office as biological reserves. These biological reserves are of two kinds: full biological reserves (RBI) and directed biological reserves (RBD). In integral biological reserves (RBI), any human intervention likely to alter the environment is prohibited: the objective of these reserves, true “large nature” laboratories, is to study the natural evolution of the forest ecosystem and the biodiversity associated with it. In directed biological reserves (RBDs), management is directed towards an objective of protecting species or environments of high heritage value.
