Map Viewing Service (WMS) of the dataset: Seismic zoning in the Bouches-du-Rhône
Description
Since 22 October 2010, France has had a new seismic zoning dividing the national territory into five zones of increasing seismicity (Articles R.563-1 to R.563-8 of the Environmental Code, as amended by Decree No 2010-1254 of 22 October 2010, and Article D.563-8-1 of the Environmental Code, created by Decree No 2010-1255 of 22 October 2010):
. an area of seismicity 1 (very low) where there is no specific seismic requirement for “normal risk” works,
. four seismicity zones 2 to 5 (2=low, 3=moderate, 4=average, 5=strength), where seismic construction rules apply to “normal risk” buildings and bridges.
Corrections were made by Decree No 2015-5 of 6 January 2015, concerning the classification of the commune of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône), initially classified as seismicity zone 2 (low), is reclassified as seismicity zone 1 (very low).
