Dataset Direct Download Service (WFS): Atmosphere Protection Plan
Description
An atmospheric protection plan (APP) is a mandatory administrative document for certain communities (any agglomeration of more than 250,000 inhabitants, and other areas of the country where the limit values and targets are exceeded or are likely to be exceeded). Introduced by the Act LAURE (Law on Air and the Rational Use of Energy) in 1996, it is legally enforceable, and must be developed in certain areas, in the following three cases:
— the area has exceeded the limit values and/or air quality targets;
— the area is likely to experience overruns;
— the zone comprises one or more agglomerations with more than 250 000 inhabitants where targets must then ‘remove within agglomerations of more than 250 000 inhabitants or areas where the limit values are exceeded or are likely to be exceeded, levels of concentrations of pollutants in the atmosphere to a level below the limit values’ (set out in Annex I to Amended Decree No 98-360 of 6 May 1998).
