Territories eligible under the Structural Funds Objective 2 (European programme)
For the period 2000-2006, the objectives of the European Union’s regional policy (“structural actions”) are 3, including Objective 2 which is territorialised.
Objective 2 helps to support the economic and social conversion of areas in structural difficulties other than those eligible for Objective 1. It brings together former Objectives 2 and 5b and other areas facing a problem of economic diversification. Overall, Objective 2 concerns areas undergoing economic change, declining rural areas, areas in crisis dependent on fisheries and urban areas in difficulty.
