Map Viewing Service (WMS) of the dataset: Families and landscapes in Auvergne
Description
This data set is the GIS layer of families and landscape sets in
Auvergne which results from the “Atlas of landscapes” approach carried by the DREAL
Auvergne and published in 2014.
The sets of landscapes extend over territories of one or more tens of
kilometres and are perceived on this scale. They describe landscapes as their own name.
A set of landscapes is therefore a part of territory with relatively appearance
homogeneous. It differs from others and clearly identifies itself by certain peculiarities
related to geomorphology, plant formations, practices
various humans, more or less recent (food, agricultural, forestry, industrial,
tourist, safe, symbolic...), constructions, lifestyles...
The family map offers nine categories, to distinguish large types of landscapes
that we meet in Auvergne. This typology takes into account topographical criteria and
ecological, more than a rural/urban distinction, and proposes to link each city
or agglomeration with a specific landscape background.
