The flood zone atlases carried out in the Oise department make it possible to inform local authorities, socio-economic actors and the public about flood risks. They are part of the State’s approach to flood risk prevention, which is based primarily on informing the population, controlling urbanisation and preserving natural areas of flood expansion.
Their value is informative. The maps and information they contain do not replace existing urban planning documents such as PLUs or PPRs. However, where they provide a better level of information, they may be used when examining individual planning acts (on-time application of Article R111-2 of the Urban Planning Code).
