Location of collective gardens in Languedoc-Roussillon (2015)
Description
Since 2010, the DRAAF Languedoc-Roussillon under the Regional Food Plan has paid particular attention to collective gardens, identified as places promoting quality food for their beneficiaries.
The data presented in the map came from:
— two projects Student Engineer SUPAGRO sponsored by the DRAAF LR to better know the different structures of collective gardens in the region, their diversity, how they operate, their cultural practices and their impact on the diet of gardeners (PEI 2011) and propose a comparative study in the LR region of public policies on collective gardens (PEI 2014). These studies have made it possible to identify (non-exhaustively) collective gardens in the region.
— the work of the regional association State of the Place, supported by DRAAF Languedoc-Roussillon, to initiate a reflection on the development of a regional network of collective gardens and the creation of an Internet exchange platform. A site to link community garden initiatives in the region has thus been created and allows gardens who wish to register on an online map: http://jardincollectif-lr.jimdo.com.
Specific work was carried out at DRAAF in September 2015 in order to consolidate the different bases from the partners.
