Sectors affected by noise from land transport infrastructure in Vienna
Description
The sound classification aims to systematically inform building builders so that new buildings built in the vicinity of land transport infrastructure are isolated according to their sound exposure to them. The sound classification is a prefectural order classifying land transport infrastructure into five categories (from 1 to 5) according to the level of noise they generate, the category 1 being the loudest.
A noise-affected sector is defined on either side of each classified infrastructure. These sectors must be reported on the graphic documents of the urban planning document. Prefectural Decree No. 2015-DDT-830 of 1 September 2015 defines the list of relevant infrastructures in Vienna and their category.
