Territorial Coherence Schema (SCoT) in Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur
Description
The Act on Solidarity and Urban Renewal (Law SRU) of 13 December 2000 provides for the establishment, from 1 January 2002, of territorial coherence schemes, which replace the master plans.
Developed by elected officials, at the level of the living, housing or employment basin, they will aim to express the overall strategy of the agglomeration and to state the main choices in terms of habitat, balance between natural and urban areas, infrastructure and commercial planning.
In peri-urban areas, in case the SCOT does not exist, any urbanisation area will be blocked, unless agreed by the prefect, within a radius of 15 km around the municipalities of the agglomeration if it has more than 15,000 inhabitants.
