Scope of public institutions for inter-municipal cooperation (own taxation or other)
Public institutions for inter-municipal cooperation (EPCI) are groupings of municipalities whose purpose is to draw up “common development projects within solidarity zones”. They are subject to common rules which are homogeneous and comparable to those of local authorities.
The information presented here relates to EPCI with own taxation (agglomeration communities, communities of municipalities), as well as EPCI without own taxation (SIVU), Multiple Vocation Intercommunal Unions (SIVOM), Closed Joint Unions (SFs) and Open Mixed Trade Unions (open MUs).
