Natura 2000 Special Protection Area (SPA) in Seine-et-Marne
Description
The Natura 2000 network comprises 2 types of regulatory areas: special Protection Areas (SPAs) and Special Areas of Conservation (SACs). SPAs are designated from the Inventory of Important Bird Conservation Areas (ICAOs) defined by European Directive 79/409/EEC of 25 April 1979 on the conservation of wild birds.The designation of SPAs is a national decision, resulting in a ministerial order, without requiring a prior dialogue with the European Commission.
