FQMS — Fuel Quality Monitoring System 2012
Description
In accordance with the Fuel Quality Directive, compliance with environmental quality standards for fuels is reviewed and reported annually as part of the Fuel Quality Monitoring System. Since 2003, the Federal Environment Agency has carried out these quality controls in Austria. In 2012, around 7.8 million tonnes of fuel were sold in Austria, some 6.1 million tonnes of which were diesel fuels. In order to check the quality of the fuels, a total of 206 samples were taken throughout Germany at 206 service stations. Diesel fuel has been tested for compliance with ON EN 590, petrol for ON EN 228 compliance. A total of four deviations from the established standard parameters were found; an exceedance of the maximum vapour pressure for normal and super gasoline and two of the permitted biodiesel content for diesel fuels.
