Description
The System of Health Accounts (SHA) provides a methodological framework within which countries can make internationally comparable estimates of the consumption of health and long-term care goods and services by their populations. The drawing up of these "health accounts" is compulsory for the Member States of the European Union (see explanatory note below). The standardised framework offers the possibility to make comparisons on how these services are provided, for what purpose and who bears part of the financial burden.
These data are always expressed in million euro, % of GDP and % of total expenditure.
