Otter mapping Johnsbach Enns 2014
Description
The Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) is strictly protected throughout the European Union. The study area in the Gesäuse National Park is part of the Natura 2000 area of Ennstaler Alpen/Gesäuse, in which the otter is explicitly mentioned as a protected property. This project continued monitoring at Johnsbach and Enns. Bridges and river bank sections were examined for slogans and step seals. The otter has been detected throughout the test area.
