Enriched BAG to support local energy issues
Description
The BAG includes all buildings (buildings) of the Netherlands. Information has been added to a building, namely the use function, the area of use and the year of construction. In order to better support (local) energy issues with more publicly available data, RVO wants to develop an enriched BAG utility building. The existing BAG will be provided with additional information, which supports the resolution of energetic issues. The data can be used to solve isolated issues, but also to provide existing models with updated and/or new information.
In this trajectory, the utility spans are additionally provided with aspects such as an indicative energy label and an indicative use of electricity, gas or heat. The geometry of buildings has also been added to determine the surface area of the shields floor, roof and facade. From the façade surface it is calculated which part of it is shared with neighbors and which part is in contact with the outside air and which is eligible for (post) insulation. The report describes the method by which these additional data have been determined.
Two data files are made available; a file containing residence objects and a file in which the information of residence objects at the property level is aggregated. These files can be downloaded via the links below.

This research is part of a larger and long-term process to complete the BAG and apply it to specific (energy) objectives. In a follow-up process, we intend to further divide the 11 usage functions within the BAG into several energy-relevant building types. Think of identifying e.g. data centers, cooling halls, swimming pools, etc. So keep an eye on the developments!
