Geophysical investigations
Description
The data level contains information on measuring areas, profile lines and measurement campaigns of geophysical investigations according to the disciplines separately for geoelectrics, gravimetry, geomagnetics and seismics.
Geoelectrics: Overview of local measuring areas handled by different companies, as well as investigations commissioned or carried out by the LAGB. Before 1990, the investigations carried out by companies mostly concern measurements of the VEB Geophysics Leipzig, after 1990 measurements of various engineering offices, which were reported to the LAGB according to the Deposits Act/Geology Data Act.
Seismic: The profile system of seismic measurements is divided into 2D-reflection seismic measurements for the exploration of geological structures and raw material exploration at a depth of about 5 km, as well as the measurements of refraction seismics and wide-angle reflection seismics, which investigate the structure of the earth’s crust at a depth of up to 40 km. The deep seismic profiles are further distinguished by the measurement methods used. Study areas of reflection seismic 3D measurements mark areas of detailed exploration of seismic signals simultaneously excited with the help of multiple sources, which are recorded on surface-based geophones.
Gravimetry and Geomagnetics: Listed are the measuring area outlines and information of regional measurements in Saxony-Anhalt.
