Territory benefiting from LEADER 4th generation in Limousin in 2014
Description
Leader constitutes axis 4 for the implementation of the Rural Development Regulation (Council REGULATION (EC) No 1698/2005 of 20 September 2005. It is a European programme for rural areas that allows France to support 222 territories with a development strategy organised around a unifying theme. These territories have set up Local Action Groups (LAGs) whose operation is organised around participation in the decisions of a public/private partnership with a majority of private partners (representatives of socio-professional organisations, associations, companies). Leader was set up for the period 2007-2013, following three generations of Community initiative programme (Leader l, Leader II, Leader+) whose aim is to open up new avenues for European interventions.
