PLEASE NOTE: this dataset is not exhaustive on the perimeter of New Aquitaine, it concerns the perimeter of the former Limousin region.
The iconic sites define emblematic landscapes that owe their character either to an accumulation of key landscape values (stream watercourses, rock chaos, vernacular architecture, tree alignment, etc.), or to a unique intrinsic landscape value.
Unprotected, these emblematic spaces deserve special attention; they serve as a support for setting up site protections.
In any case, know-how and heritage management give them an undeniable picturesque character.
